Airwaves Rock Festival à la Cigale
Premier jour du festival, dimanche 25 juin, dédié à la compilation Paris Calling. Entrepris par Yarol Poupaud (ex FFF), le projet est censé cristalliser presque deux ans de renouveau rock à Paris, avec les Second Sex, Plasticines, Shades, Brooklyn, Hellboys, Parisians et Rolls. On remarque entre autres l'absence de trois groupes fondateurs : les Naast, Brats et Violett, à l'origine de la seconde vague du mouvement rock parisien. Jouent donc ce soir : cinq groupes de la compil, plus en surprise : Pete Doherty, dont la présence serait un symbole puisque The Libertines auraient fait naître le mouvement en supportant les Parisians.
Les premiers à passer sont Les Shades, qui auraient été, comme à leur habitude, tout de blanc vêtus, si le bassiste n'avait porté un pantalon jauni à la Javel. Pour une fois, le chanteur Benjamin ne prend pas la parole, ou à peine, et évite ainsi les propos douteux (ni reich, ni volk). Le garçonnet est, sur scène, un peu bizzare, mais parait néanmoins plutôt naturel; c'est qu'il est à fond dedans, limite habité. En fait, on y croit, on serait même presque touché par l'histoire de la pauv' meuf qui fait les annonces-micro à l'aéroport. Les morceaux se sont étoffés, ils ont pris du corps grâce à des solos plus consistants. Les Shades sont toujours bons et chaque fois meilleurs.
Suit Brooklyn, groupe de moins jeunes popeux.
Puis les Plasticines, qui surprennent par leur maturation. C'est toujours un groupe de filles, qui jouent de la power-pop néo-punk à la Strokes, et qui portent des t-shirts Ramones ou Clash de chez H&M, mais elles ont désormais un véritable univers, certes un peu superficiel, mais qui leur correspond vraiment. L'émotion est là, notamment sur l'inédit No Way, et cela, même si elles n'ont probablement encore jamais eu de chagrin d'amour; c'est qu'elles ont quand même connu la désillusion les petiotes, voir le hit Looser. On ne soupçonnait pas autant de sensibilité chez de si charmantes clubbeuses. Et malgré un son parfois bien petit, et une baisse de régime après les premiers titres, énergiques à l'image de Shake (Twist Around The Fire), les Plastocs ont fait une super prestation scénique.
Dernier groupe de djeuns : les Second Sex, encore plus merdeux que les Shades. Ont cependant beaucoup grandi et n'en sont que moins attendrissants. Et malgré de bons morceaux, ça manque de profondeur. Les Second Sex ont quand même la classe et sont encore vraiment mignons.
Vient le tour de The Hellboys, tête d'affiche sur le papier. Ca joue du rock'n'roll à défaut de jouer dans la subtilité. Dylanesque, strummeresque, et une adaptation de circonstance du London Calling des Clash. Toujours mieux, jamais bien.
Et annoncé qu'au tout dernier moment : Pete Doherty, sans les Babyshambles. Les gus n'ont pas honoré leur concert de la veille au festival Furia. Doherty se retrouve donc sur scène accompagné de sombres zicos. On aura reconnu Fuck Forever, de loin. Les morceaux se dilatent au grès de l'état de Pete : on prolonge la jam jusqu'à ce que le camé se sente prêt à entamer une bride de refrain. Doherty aura tenté, en vain, de jouer de la guitare. Il préférera rester assis pour finir la chanson. Bien pâle apparition du spectre Doherty, faut dire qu'un drogué est en manque toutes les demie-heures.

Une banlieue, un bistrot après le boulot, dernier fond de verre. Le quarantenaire divorcé est nostalgique : Couleur menthe à l'eau passe à la radio. Depuis le chagrin d'amour de ses 20 ans jusqu'au récent divorce, Eddy est le fidèle compagnon qu'il n'a pas. C'est d'un pathétique, mais quand il chante qu'il est de trop, avec sa gueule, on y croit, fort. Ce qui nous a d'abord ému c'est l'histoire misérable de cette fille, une putain de paumée, qui rêve d'être une star de ciné; elle joue à se mettre en scène mais c'est pas la réalité, alors la fille se résigne et reprend sa vie de merde. Bon, tout le monde n'a pas une vie de merde, n'est pas un quarantenaire divorcé, n'a pas connu de chagrin d'amour en 80. Certes. Y'a quand même des fois où une petite séance de pleurs ne ferait pas de mal. Et même qu'il vaudrait mieux se la déclencher, par prévention. Une crise de larme qu'on se provoquerait comme on s'éclate une ampoule. Et quand on sent que ça se finit, on va à la fenêtre, on se penche, il fait noir, l'air du soir sèche nos larmes. Et puis c'est insoutenable : on va vite éteindre la musique. On se demande encore comment on a fait pour en arriver là. Parce que bon, on se l'est quand même enfilé pas mal de fois la chanson. Et puis on se dit qu'elle nous fera plus jamais d'effet, qu'on a épuisé son potentiel lacrymal. Mais tant qu'on verra la lumière, couleur menthe à l'eau, on essayera de la toucher.

L'Eurovision ou vision de l'Europe
Finale du grand concours de chant européen. Depuis la Grèce, retransmise par FR3 et commentée par Michel Drucker.
Comme le rappelle Nana Mouskouri, l'important : c'est de participer. En effet, il s'agit non seulement de partager des valeurs communes mais également de faire connaître les différentes cultures européennes.
Et constatation : la grande majorité des candidats chante en anglais bien que ce ne soit la langue que d'une petite minorité de candidats.
Pourquoi donc? Peut-être parce que quand on chante dans sa langue maternelle, on fait un bide. Exemple : la France qui finit avant-avant dernière, 22ème sur 24. A moins que ce ne soit la faute de l'interprète (pas citée car pas connue) ou encore de l'auteur/compositeur (cité car connu : Corneille).
Enfin chanter dans la langue de Thatcher n'est pas pour autant synonyme de réussite : Malte chantait pour la première fois en anglais et finissait pour la énième fois dernier. L' eurodance techhnoïdale n'aidant pas.
On peut même réussir sans chanter en anglais : la Bosnie-Herzégovine a bien terminé 3ème grâce à une chanson instrumentale de variété folklorique. Douze albums à l'actif du chanteur aidant.
Les Las Ketchup ("Aserejé") chantent bien en espagnol; il faut dire que le latino s'exporte bien.
N'en n'est pas moins vrai : la grande majorité des candidats chante en anglais bien que ce ne soit la langue que d'une petite minorité de candidats. Perte de l'identité nationale. Globalisation. Uniformisation.
Un Billy Crawford russe, des mélodies empruntées et racoleuses, des cow-boys allemands jouant du banjo, des lieux communs de la pop internationale, une sirène porno débordant de son corset, des mises en scène grotesques, des lituaniens entonnant l'hymne "We're the winners of Eurovision", du festif à outrance, des filles de l'est tellement bonnes que pas putes, plein de bons sentiments, une tragédienne grecque sur-jouant, de l'universalité, et un chanteur moldave recyclé (ex O-Zone / "Dragostea Din Tei").
Et, chiasse parmi les merdes, Lordi, monster-groupe de heavy métal finlandais, remporte la grande finale de l'Eurovision 2006.

Compte rendu du vendredi 17 mars: à la recherche du Gibus perdu.
18h, Virgin Megastore des Champs-Elysées: les Second Sex n'ont vraiment pas le son. Pire concert selon Tim (chant, guitare) et Vincent (basse, chant). Pourtant certain succès de l'opération séduction: glapissement des minettes, jalousie des minets, attendrissement des mères, nostalgie des vétérans. Dont Eudeline, qui, avec ses Beaux Gosses, tente, à défaut d'en vendre, de faire savoir scéniquement qu'il sort un nouvel album. Echec de l'opération promotion: le public a déguerpi.
21h, la Boule Noire: ouverture des festivités du cabaret Ullmann (les entractes seront comblés par de piètres numéros).
Initialement programmées puis déprogrammées et enfin re-programmées pour un moindre salaire, les Violett livrent un set de grande qualité. De nouvelles chansons, de l'émotion.
Suivent, c'est écrit sur le fond de scène, c'est rappelé par Gustave (chant, guitare), les Naast! Energie contagieuse; parterre de djeun's surexcités.
Il est à présent temps de prendre le dernier métro. A ceux qui l'ont emprunté: vous n'avez rien raté, ou presque (notamment une bagarre entre Gustave et un adversaire rapidement dégagé par la sécu).
S'éternise la prestation de Medi & The Medicine Show. Influences racolleuses à la Hendrix et autres Led Zep. Putassier façon Lenny Kravitz. Pop rock 90's formatée Parc des Princes.
Et enfin, les Hellboys: toujours mieux, jamais bien. Hommage au King. Couronnement du live dans la bonne humeur avec "Besoin de rien" repris sur scène à l'unisson par bande de djeuns rockers.
Le Gibus n'est jamais loin.
